Meet Your Instructor:

Ms. Kim Guillory is a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant. Ms. Guillory has been a Medical Assistant since 2010 and  has taught college level Allied Health courses since 2013.

The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program is designed to provide a knowledge of administrative skills for medical offices, professionalism, medical law and ethics, insurance verification, clinical and laboratory procedures, patient triage, EKG’s, injections, blood collections, and CPR. The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program includes in-person and hybrid instruction.

There is funding assistance available from Texas Workforce and Region 5 for those students that qualify.

Schedule and Location

  • This class is 2 sessions at 10-weeks long each, for a total of 550 contact hours of training.
  • Classes meet Monday thru Friday from 9:00am to 2:30pm.
  • Tuition is $4,000 billed, billed at $2,000 per session.

Prerequisites

  • Proof of age. Students must be 18 years old or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • The Texas Department of State Health Services requires students to receive the Bacterial Meningitis vaccination in order to attend this class unless they are 22 years of age or older on the first day of the class.

Graduation Requirements

  • Students must maintain a passing grade in the course and must successfully demonstrate CCMA techniques and procedures.
  • Upon completion of CCMA training at Lamar State College Port Arthur, students will be eligible to sit for an accreditation examination with the National Healthcareer Association.
